🍁Autumn Aistear Rm 2 🍁

We had so much fun with our Autumn Aistear theme in Rm2🍂. The children worked at five different stations, changing station each day. Our small world station saw the children working in a miniature woodland floor with stick puppet woodland animals. We had great fun collecting leaves, twigs and other natural materials for this. In construction, the boys and girls used wooden blocks and Duplo to create shelters for the animals to hibernate in. The children practised their fine motor skills in manipulative play with play dough. In art, the children created autumn trees using the autumn colours and cotton buds. In our last station, we were learning how to make leaf prints by doing leaf rubbings using the leaves we collected on our leaf hunt. The boys and girls hugely enjoyed this theme and really got involved in this play-based framework for learning.
