Room 10 have continued to work hard as scientists. This week we investigated our fingerprints.

Experiment 2: Investigating Fingerprints

Equipment:

• Lead pencil
• Paper
• Fingerprint Chart

Activity:

1. Look at fact file on fingerprints using the IWB.
2. Using lead pencils, 'scribble' a small area on the paper.
3. Press each finger onto the lead and make fingerprints on the paper.
4. Observe different patterns on the fingers.

Conclusions:

• Everyone has unique fingerprints and these can be used in areas such as the FBI.
