Family Fun Day

The Family Fun Day was a great success.  We were busy all day and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.  The downpour at 3pm certainly did not dampen anyone’s spirits!   On behalf of the FFD committee I would like to extend our thanks to all the people that volunteered on Sunday. We really couldn’t have held the event without you.   We received so many donations of equipment, prizes, books, CDs, DVDs and cakes for the day from parents and local businesses.  Thank you all so much for your contributions. We would like to give particular mention to Darren and Sarah Zaidan who donated much of the equipment for the stalls and so many prizes and books.  We were really touched by their generosity. Other donors were Lilac Wines, Finian McGrath T.D., Casa Pasta and Sion Hill Pharmacy.   Larry’s Marino Fair provided a lovely BBQ for us.  Larry kindly donated his time, and the proceeds from the sale of burgers were given to the school.   Thank you to Jim Murphy who brought along his sound system and Karaoke machine which kept us all entertained.   Thank you to all the girls that performed throughout the day.  You did a fantastic job.  There is a huge amount of talent in the school.   We were delighted to have the Order of Malta and the Fire Brigade in attendance and we have sent them letters of thanks.   The FFD committee would also like to give a big thank you to both Principals and the teachers that helped on the day.  Their support during the planning stage and on the day was invaluable.   We really enjoyed planning and running this event and we hope that the children and their families enjoyed the day!   Can’t wait for next year!!!   FFD Committee Michelle Mullen, Bern Hennessey, Kathryn Russell, Geraldine Dunne, Sarah Lynch   Photos taken by Patrick Johnston
