Room 1 Junior Infants - 'Garden Centre' Aistear Theme

In March the children learned all about the Garden Centre, an appropriate theme for spring time! They played in the Role Play area, inside the Garden Centre where they practised filling pots with soil, planting flowers, using gardening tools and buying and selling plants and tools! In the Construction area the children used blocks to build their own gardens and garden centres, sometimes even adding on cafés to the side! In the Small World they built their own fruit and vegetable patches, while in Junk Art they used toilet roll holders to make some 3D flower vases! At the Playdough station they were inspired by some spring themed playdough mats to make flowers, eggs and much more. And finally at the Writing station the children wrote their shopping lists for when they were going to the Garden Centre!
