Here in Room 6 our Junior Infants are learning all about the house and home through Aistear play! We have 5 different activities that we all get to participate in. We have the 'Home' corner (Sociodramatic play area) where we get to play and pretend that we're cooking in the kitchen, eating at the table and relaxing in the sitting room. We're having lots of fun pretending to be a family and doing different jobs in the house. In the Construction area we get to use giant blocks to build whatever we want, but mostly we're building houses! At the Playdough table we're making things that we would find in the house, like cushions on the sofa, flowers in the garden, cars in the garage, and food in the kitchen! At the Small World area we're playing with the doll house and making rooms with the little furniture and playing with the little families inside the house. At the Junk Art table we're using lollipop sticks to build 2D houses and then we're decorating them with crayons and coloured paper windows and doors! We're enjoying learning all about 'Home'!
