17th Nov 2022
This week we have been celebrating Science Week in our class, here are some of the experiments we tried:
- Celery Experiment - Showing how plants use transpiration to suck up water.
- Dancing Raisins - Showing how an object's density can change.
- Rainbow Skittles - Warm water dissolves the sugar and food colouring from the sweets.
- Sink/Float - We guessed whether oranges with and without skins would float and tried it out.
- Self Inflating Balloon - When the vingar and baking soda fused, carbon dioxide blew up the balloon.
- Tallest Tower Challenge - Our tables had 15 minutes to make the tallest tower they could using spaghetti & marshmallows.
- Diet Cola Rocket - In the yard Mr. Travers launched a rocket using diet cola and mentos, he got absolutely soaked!!
- And we made some rice crispy buns as well :)
We had an amazing week and took home certificates for all of our great work.
