PARKING

Parking availability at drop off and collection times is limited and unpredictable so factor in some extra time when leaving home. Parents sometimes use the church parking and other local spots where parking is allowed.

Occasionally the issue of illegal parking in the vicinity of our schools has been brought to the attention of the Board of Management.

Regrettably, some adults dropping and collecting children from the Infant and Girls Schools have blocked entrances and exits of homes on Griffith Ave or parked on pavements, grass verges and cycle lanes. All of these activities are illegal and, in view of the number of children attending both schools, are highly dangerous.

The City Council (Clamping Section) and the Community Garda patrol the vicinity regularly due to previous complaints from local residents about the matter.

We know that it can be frustrating and stressful for busy parents when trying to find a parking spot in a hurry but we appeal to all concerned for co-operation and careful time planning to ensure the children’s safety, which is essential and to avoid incurring unnecessary fines and penalty point losses.
