Principal's Welcome

On behalf of the staff and pupils of St. Vincent de Paul Infant School, I wish you a warm welcome to our school website.

We, as a team, hope our website gives you a sense of the care and attention that we strive to provide to all pupils, and the playful learning experiences we aspire to create.

At St. Vincent de Paul Infant School, we believe that children are natural learners. They have an inbuilt curiosity and an eagerness to know more about themselves, others and the world around them. Children learn best when they are ready and their interest is roused. It is our aim to cultivate readiness among our pupils while treating each child as an individual. We provide opportunities for children to develop and learn at their own pace.

We understand that “big school” is the first major step your child has to take away from you. We are here to support you. We have an experienced team and we endeavour to develop a sense of belonging among our pupils through a positive, inclusive and secure environment. It is our mission that all pupils reach their true potential.

I have had the privilege of working in St. Vincent de Paul Infant School since 2010. It is a wonderful place to work and a happy place to learn. The culture of St. Vincent de Paul Infant School is a product of the collegial and dedicated staff, our supportive families and vibrant pupils.

It is an honour to lead this school as principal and work closely with the talented team of mainstream teachers, SET teachers and SNAs.  I am privileged to work with our super-organised secretary Clare and our committed caretaker Peter. I am fortunate to have the support of my fantastic team of assistant principals and my Deputy Principal Caroline Maher.

We are extremely grateful for the support, generosity and camaraderie from the parents and families of our pupils, the Parents’ Association, the Board of Management, St. Vincent de Paul Girls’ School, Scoil Mhuire and the wider community.

They say it takes a village…

and there is no village like

St. Vincent de Paul Infant School.
